AN EVENING WITH THE ELECTROPUNKS: Hosted by OBCT
Uber Cool Kung Fu - Avenpitch - Stellar Vector - Mach FoX

About The Show:

"An Evening with the Electropunks" showcases the very best bands the Twin Cites has to offer by way of the electropunk movement. All involved artists appear on the Twin Cities Electropunk Volume 2 compilation [http://www.tcelectropunk.com]. If you’re one of the few remaining Twin Cities residents without a copy of this critically acclaimed compilation you can pick a disc up for FREE - yes FREE - at this showcase.

After spending the summer touring and playing the occasional gig around town electropunks Uber Cool Kung Fu, Avenpitch, Stellar Vector and Mach FoX will reconvene at the Varsity Theater in Dinkytown [http://www.varsitytheater.org] on Saturday, September 3rd for an evening of cyborg-styled punk rock vindication!

The show starts at 9pm, it is 18+ and will cost you $7.00 at the door.

Whether you come as a skeptic of this so-called 'electropunk' or a die hard fan, be ready for a night of full on fury! As we will hold nothing back...

Having studied the ancient dance-rock ninjitsu of Pop Will Eat Itself and Carter U.S.M. and perfected their pop-punk/nu-metal death touch by listening to Screeching Weasel and Sum 41, Minneapolis electropunks Uber Cool Kung Fu bar no holds in their quest for rock n’ roll vengeance. From crushing guitar riffs to sharpedged synthesizer hooks, U*C*K*F* deploys an impressive array of musical weaponry on its debut album 3 (Omega Point Records), and wields it all with steady-handed pop skill.

Todd Millenacker, David Miller, Darren Siaw, Paul Hudalla
Searing eardrums like an acid rainstorm, Minneapolis' Avenpitch thrash away on their digital devices with the same primal abandon Iggy and the Stooges unleashed upon their guitars. Electropop has never sounded so punk.

Stellar Vector is an Electro-Punk group featuring members of several established bands from Minnesota. You could describe this distinct sound as a cross between Van Halen and Kraftwerk. Scratch the surface and you will find an eclectic blend of musical influences. When asked what it is about Stellar Vector that convinces you to go to a show, producer Ev Olcott responded with, “The drama. Not just musically, but lyrically and harmonically as well. Takes you through a set of thoughts and emotions, but with power.”

Mach FoX:
www.grand80.com
Like a DeLorean time machine, Mach FoX's sleek, sci-fi pop exists simultaneously in the electropunk future and the retro-synthpop past. Twitchy computer beats, jittery synthesizers, and ethereal, Cure-inspired guitars interweave in Mach Fox's hall of mirrors, with Mach's soaring, mournful vocals serving as a guide through the labyrinth. While plenty of current bands cop the flash and glitter of 80s electronic pop, Mach FoX is one of the few to capture a bit of its soul.

OBCT:

Dan Bateman, Geoff Makousky
OBCT processes a dirty, clouded and overcrowded electronic flow that few currently find aesthetically pleasing, into a controlled choatic exchange of experimental composing techniques, plunderphonic musical elements, organic and sythetic instrumentation, perspective based songwriting and the limitless possibilities of the protokol:choasenigine.

September 3rd @ The Varsity Show Timetable

Pre-show Setup: I would like to see everyone there by 8:00 - 8:30 so we can get all the drum sets set up back stage and everything that can be set up before hand ready so we can make quick changes. Also, if each band could create a one page sheet with all their sound needs, just to let the board op know what you'll need.

OBCT's bigass table of goodies will be set up off to the side of the stage and out of the way of the performing bands and we'll toss out some opening atmosphere music while things begin. Stellar Vector will get their entire setup put up and ready to go, Drums, Amps and sequences all before doors open. After that is all set up and ready to go, Mach will get his stuff up in front of the SV drums and assorted gear and at that point we should be able to have Mach start and then make a quick 5-7 min change over right into Stellar Vector.

Door's open @ 9:00 pm

9:10 to 9:50 pm // Mach Fox Takes the Stage! (set time: 35-40 min.)
Mach Fox Setlist :

OBCT Break #1: (5-7 mins)
This is a short break, 5-7mins, just enough time to get Mach's gear off the stage and SV's stuff powered up and ready to drop. Booty will be solo for the second song so Geoff can get his gear ready to go. When SV is ready Booty will fade out and Stellar Vector kicks off their set!

Song #1: 'Dog Food' w/both Geoff and Booty
Song #2: 'Obese Break' solo Boot while Geoff sets up his SV rig (2-3 mins)

10:00-10:15 to 10:55 // Stellar Vector Takes the Stage! (Set Time 40- 45 mins.)
Stellar Vector Setlist:

OBCT Break #2 (15-20 mins)
This is a longer break as it will need to allow for a set up and tear down of two full bands. Stellar Vector will quickly tear down their gear while Avenpitch get's ready to go. For the Avenpitch soundcheck, we'll do it in the middle of the change over. The OBCT break will pause shortly, we'll let AP soundcheck and then we'll finish up our break, fade out, and Avenpitch will take the stage. If we're running short on time the end of the OBCT break will get cut and Avepitch will go right from soundcheck into their set.

Song #1: Concoctshun
Song #2: Damce Munber
Song #3: 25 Dollar Car
AVENPITCH SOUNDCHECK
Song #4: I forget this one???
Song #5: Gizzy Bass

11:15-11:30 to 12:00-12:15 AVENPITCH Takes the Stage (Set Time 35-45 mins)
Avenpitch Setlist:

OBCT Break #3 (15-20 mins)
This is the last transitional break, it should allow plenty of time to get AP off the stage and UCKF gear set up and ready to fire. My drums and amps will be right there, so if Jesse has things ready to go it should be a quick transition. We'll do a quick soundcheck, get the sound dialed in and then OBCT will finish up the break, we'll build the tension up a little and then UCKF will take the stage. If time is short or if the crowd is waining, wel have UCKf start right out of soundcheck.

Song #1: Nice Little Thing
Song #2: The Shit
Song #3: Weak Knees
UCKF SOUND CHECK!
Song #4: Little Ass
Song #5: Hip Ass (UCKF INTRO)

12:15-12:30 Uber Cool Kung Fu Takes the Stage (Set time 45 mins)

Uber Cool Kung Fu Setlist:

Nightcap: OBCT
OBCT has a few options to end the night, if there's still a huge crowd who's looking for more action, we'll play a quick 10-15 min OBCT set to end the night, if things are winding down we have a chilled out nightcap set of crazy stuff ready to go.
